The Dutch DJ talks us through the Transcendental EP, her first release for Get Physical in six years…
Shinedoe
Transcendental EP (Light; Transcendental; Cosmic)
Describe the record in five words.
Beyond all thoughts and words.
What is it about this record that will appeal to the fans?
The balance between rhythmic grooves and hypnotic sounds that will take you on a natural inner trip.
How does it differ from your last release?
If I compare it to my remix of Keep On by Jordan Peak & Mark Fancuilli, or my Sweet & Sour EP, the difference with my Transcendental EP is that for Cosmic I used more vocals and the track is more downtempo. Light and Transcendental are still Shinedoe vibe tracks. To be honest I don’t have a format in my head for making songs. If you listen to my music, you’ll notice that each track has its own vibe and feel, but essentially still a Shinedoe feel.
What was the inspiration for this release?
This winter was a great inspiration for me to craft this release as I had time to reflect and realise that whatever the situation or however you are feeling, it’s possible to transform things. This moment of realisation felt good, and Light and affected me on a Cosmic level.
If you had the chance to play this in any club, which would it be?
It’s difficult for me to answer the question – I can’t name one club. I love playing it in all the clubs!
