EQTV talks to Chicago producer Mazi Namvar about his new house outing, Hip Shake Heartache…
House music has never really been away, but it seems like there’s been a real resurgence towards the more classic house sounds of late. Mazi Namvar’s new album is only going to help that resurgence. Chicago producer Mazi has been releasing music since 1994, creating hundreds of tracks and remixes along the way, and A&Ring for a whole host of top quality labels. The new album, Hip Shake Heartache – his second as Audio Soul Project – reflects his history, moving between deep house, disco and even glitch with effortless ease. Vocals come from Ron Carroll, Alexander East and Nathan Drew Larsen, and musicians Jimmy Tripp and Richard Gow also lend a hand.
EQTV caught up with Mazi at home in Chicago to talk about Audio Soul Project, making vocal house tracks work, and to find out more about this ambitious live shows…
