Four DJs. One stage. The best things really do come in small packages… The EQTV cameras head to Leeds for the second Cocoon In The Park, and we catch Adam Shelton, Loco Dice, Ricardo Villalobos and Sven Väth in action…
If you’re looking for some tips on how to run a festival, you should speak to Cocoon and System. Sven Väth’s mighty musical machine and the Leeds promoters du jour have totally nailed it with their little one-day event. Eschewing the usual UK festival model of tonnes of stages and shortened sets for dozens of DJs, this forward-thinking double act opts for quality over quantity. It worked last year when they launched Cocoon In The Park, but this year the format really shone through as bigger crowds flocked to the idyllic surroundings of Temple Newsam in Leeds for lengthy sets from the increasingly hot Brum DJ Adam Shelton, Loco Dice, Ricardo Villalobos and, of course, Sven himself. It was the perfect cocktail for the perfect festival.
We caught up with Adam, Dice and Sven for chats, and caught all four DJs in action behind the decks. And watch out for our extended interviews with Sven (talking about Cocoon’s upcoming projects) and Dice (talking about his new Underground Amnesia album and more) coming soon.
