Lenny Burden talks to futuresound.tv and offers up some invaluable tips on how to make it in the music business, and producing modern techno music, and gives us some insights into the early years of Octave One…
And watch our for the next releases in Octave One’s excellent Revisted remix series. Here are the details…
Love And Hate (Cari Lekebusch’s Hidden Remix)
I Need Release (Alexander Kowalski Remix)
Love And Hate (Cari Lekebusch’s Revealed Remix)
Nicolette (Vince Watson Remix)
430 West continues to celebrate its 20-year history, allowing two more Octave One classics to get the remix treatment from some of the Burden brothers’ favourite artists.
For the latest instalment, Sweden’s Cari Lekebusch takes on ‘Love and Hate’ originally released on Octave One’s ‘Off The Grid EP’ on Berlin’s seminal Tresor Records. Which takes us neatly on to another Tresor (and Kanzleramt) artist, Berlin resident Alexander Kowalski who restyles ‘I Need Release’. Featuring vocals from Ann Saunderson, it was the first release taken from Octave One’s ‘Summers on Jupiter’ album.
The next instalment features another stellar remix by Cari Lekebusch. This time he further reworks ‘Love and Hate’ to give us his “Revealed Mix”. As with III, this also brings us to another Tresor artist, Vince Watson, with his take on Octave One’s ‘Nicolette’.
All these tracks, plus additional remixes by the likes of Sandwell District, Aril Brikha, Ken Ishii, Luke Slater, Los Hermanos, and Alter Ego are all included on Octave One’s retrospective album, ‘Here, There, and Beyond’ due out in September 2011.
Revisited Series III and IV are out on 430 West in June. Visit www.octaveone.com, www.facebook.com/octaveone and futuresound.tv
