Record Of The Day: Deepgroove – Kaleidoscopes

Deepgroove’s Lee Pattison and Grayson Shipley on their slight change of tack with Kaleidoscopes, their new one on Tim Sheridan’s VVWI

Deepgroove
Kaleidoscopes (Tim Sheridan’s Kaleidosonic Mix, Gentlemen’s Club Remix, Tim Sheridan’s Kaleidosonic Dub)

Describe Kaleidoscopes in five words.
Bass. House. Peak. Sensory. Abandonment.

How does it differ from your last release?
A summer spent in Ibiza skulking in the dark corners of DC10 and Cocoon and a move in our DJ sets to incorporate the amazing house and tech house releases on offer at present has been inspiring beyond belief. So although we still have our techno armoury, we’ve been busy in the studio experimenting with slower tempos and more jacking beats.

What is it about this record that will appeal to the fans?
Hopefully it’s a thrilling little journey and a good opportunity to lose yourself on the dancefloor. Despite being quite stripped back, it’s got a lot of tiny psychedelic elements and an almighty bottom end to get your feet moving.

What was the inspiration for this release?
DC10, sunshine, bass-heavy clubs and all our extended crew of rave friends that we meet as we travel around the world.

If you had the chance to play this in any club, which would it be?
The Raymond Revuebar is always pretty near the top of that list.
